INSERTION
ASSEMBLY
PACKING
Metal
inserts can be incorporated into plastic components either as a post-moulding
operation using heat lock insertion equipment, or by loading metal inserts into
the mould tool during the ‘open’ phase during injection moulding.
Glossbrook
has the capability to perform any assembly operations that customers may require.
Also, because of the skills and equipment available in our tool room, we can
fabricate any special jigs required to aid assembly processes.
Packing
operations that we currently undertake include specialised processes such as
shrink-wrapping, blister packing and the use of complex layering/division of
components. We often work in conjunction with packaging suppliers to find the
most suitable and economic packing solution for customer products.
Jigs
can be used for a variety of purposes. Examples include providing leverage,
holding components in location during some process, and simultaneous assembly
of multiple numbers of components.
As a post-moulding or in-cycle moulding operation,
we are more than happy to undertake specialised assembly operations for customers.

We
take just as much care in bulk packing goods for delivery or collection. Bulky
consignments are palletised, strapped in place, and pallet-wrapped to ensure
safe transit.

A
common application of inserts is to incorporate components, a threaded location
into which a screw may be positioned. We can also use production equipment to
locate and tighten screws in inserts, or even (dependent on plastic type) directly
into the component.
