The Wire – Hair Volumising Tool for Rita Rusk International
For this project we were given a hand made prototype model of the product. We then began the task of designing the product to suit injection moulding and created a 3d CAD model.
By using a combination of CNC machining and stereolithography we manufactured a working model of the CAD design.
This model was given to the customer with fully rendered CAD images of the finished product. We also gave the customer advice on plastic material selection to suit the application.
Upon customer approval we began the process of breaking up the 3d model into individual plastic moulded parts. This was done in the most cost effective way to reduce tooling costs. The final design consisted of five injection moulded parts. Three injection mould tools were then designed and manufactured in house.
The product is moulded, hot foil stamped, assembled, packaged and delivered to our client’s customers direct.
